FREQUENTLY Asked Questions
What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are individual faux mink lashes. They are attached to your eyelashes individually, not to your skin. This service is a very meticulous and intense one that requires skill, precision, and practice. You do NOT need to use mascara or an eyelash curler while wearing eyelash extensions. Lash'd offers 2 different techniques, 4 different curls, 6 different thicknesses, and 11 different lengths.
Will extensions damage my natural lashes?
If your lash artist is not properly educated and trained, extensions could cause damage to your natural lashes. When done properly, extensions don't cause damage or premature fallout to your natural lashes. They will only shed out according to the normal growth cycle of the natural lashes. Make sure to do your research on your lash artist and check out photos of their work!
How long do Eyelash extensions last?
Each individiual is different. An individual lash extension will stay on the natural lash for the length of that natural lash's lifecycle. A typical full lash cycle is somewhere between 21-90 days. We naturally grow new lashes to replace the ones that cycle out.
Clients should be coming in every 2- 3.5 weeks for Fills or Fill Pluses to maintain the fullness of their lash extensions. If you have a Full Set put on, and don't intend to maintain them, you could wear them off completely in about 5-6 weeks.
Who wears eyelash extensions?
Women (and occasionally men) of all ages! I've put eyelash extensions on women from ages 15-80. They're great for young women preparing for special events, busy moms, professional women, women who don't like to wear makeup everyday, women who love to wear a full face of makeup, women who want to cut down on their "getting ready" routine, women who are sick of smearing, clumping mascara, women who are sick of eyelash curlers, or putting on strip lashes. Extensions are suitable for women with short, sparse natural lashes, and also women who have long, full natural lashes!
Can I wear mascara with my eyelash extensions?
Please don't! The whole point of getting eyelash extensions is so that we don't have to wear mascara anymore. Putting mascara on your extensions will only weaken the bond of the adhesive, causing your extensions to fall out faster.

How do I clean my extensions?
By using a gentle cleanser such as the ones made specifically for lash extensions by Borboleta Beauty. You can pick up any of their products at Lash'd!
Place a small amount in your hand, add a little water, swirl your brush (that comes with your cleanser) into the product, and then brush it through your extensions and onto your lids. Rinse your brush with water and go through your extensions again until they're completely clean and you are able to open your eyes. Pat dry, and comb through your lashes with a mascara wand.
What is the difference between Classic and Volume eyelashes extensions?
Classic lashing is the art of applying one, single extension to one, isolated natural lash. Volume lashing is the art of safely applying anywhere from 2-6 super fine, lightweight eyelash extensions to one, isolated natural lash.
The classic lash technique is the more standard of the two. It's great for clients who have many natural lashes and are looking to add length, curl, and darkness to what they already have.
The volume technique is the newer of the two, and becoming most popular in the lash world. It's great for clients who have fewer natural lashes, bald spots on their lash line, or who just want a fuller look. Volume lashes will give you a fuller, fluffier look than the classic lashes and typically last longer.
